Itinerary: Day-to-day

Day 1: Windhoek to Sossusvlei

Your journey starts by travelling south into the heart of the Namib Desert, an area with awe-inspiring landscapes and majestic dunes. Arriving at your lodge, situated near the entrance to Sesriem, the remainder of the day can be spent at leisure. Enjoy a late afternoon walk or take part in optional activities offered by your lodge.

Day 2: Sossusvlei

This day calls for an early rise, as you will forever remember the picture of a sunrise over the mighty dunes of the Namib Desert. Gaze at the bright splash of sun-baked sand combined with the mighty play of shadows cast onto the layside of the dunes. From Sossusvlei visit Dead Vlei, a surreal white clay pan surrounded by monumental dunes and dotted with age-old camelthorn trees. Travelling back, visit the Sesriem Canyon, an 18-million year old gorge eroded into the conglomerate floor.

    Day 3: Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

    Today you travel via the Namib Naukluft Park to Swakopmund. Visit the Welwitschia plains and the aptly named Moonlandscape before arriving in Swakopmund. (350 km)

    DAY 4: Swakopmund

    Day at leisure. Choose from a wide variety of adventure activities that are on offer in Swakopmund.

    DAY 5: Swakopmund to Damaraland

    Breakfast followed by checkout. On your way to Damaraland visit th largest fur seal colony in southern Africa at Cape Cross. A visit to the Burn Mountain and the Organ Pipes is particularly rewarding in the late afternoon. En route to your lodge you can stop at various local stree stands to purchase hand crafted artefacts and a wide variety of mineral and gemstones. (340 km)

    DAY 6: Damaraland to Etosha National Park

    After breakfast and checkout, visit Twyfelfontein, a National heritage sit and an “open air art gallery” that boasts over 2500 different Bushman roc engravings and rock paintings. En route to your lodge you can also visit traditional Himba village and meet these proud and statuesque people Travel further north to the Etosha National Park, which, with its numerou water holes, is home to the array of 114 different animal and 340 differen bird species. (330 km)

    DAY 7: Etosha National Park

    Entering the Etosha National Park, your time will be devoted purely to the abundant wildlife found here. The park surrounds a parched salt desert known as the Etosha Pan, and is home to 4 of the Big Five – elephant, lion, leopard and rhino. The parks waterholes support a diversity of mammals and birds, including species such as black-faced Impala, cheetah, and Namibia’s smallest antelope, the Damara Dik-Dik. (120 km)

    DAY 8: Etosha National Park

    You have the entire day available for extensive game viewing experiences. No game drive is the same; all waterholes hold new surprises and attract different animal species that you may not have seen on previous game drives.

    DAY 9: Etosha National Park to Waterberg Plateau Park

    Departing the Etosha National Park, travel south to the Waterberg Platea Park. This is one of the most scenic locations in Namibia – perfect fo undertaking scenic walks or guided nature safaris. (380 km)

    DAY 10: Checkout

    Enjoy a pre-breakfast walk along one of the scenic mountain trails befor travelling south back to Windhoek. Return your rental car and await you onward bound flight. (275 km)
