Day 1: Cape Town

Welcome to Cape Town, one of the world’s most beautiful cities! On arrival, you will collect your rental car and drive to your guest house. Spend the afternoon at your own leisure. Suggested activities – visit the V&A Waterfront with its many shops, restaurants, and pubs. V&A is also the departure point for boat trips to Robben Island, the island most famous for being a prison island.

Day 2 & 3: Cape Town

Days at leisure. Suggested activities:

  • Do a day trip in your rental car to witness the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans at Cape Point. Ensure to make a stop at Boulder’s Beach Penguin Colony
  • Travel to the top of Table Mountain for spectacular views of the city, sea and distant mountains
  • Treat yourself with an exciting and spicy Cooking Safari in the colorful Cape Malay area of Bo-Kaap (Fair Trade Certified)
  • Take in the highlights of Cape Town City Center such as Company Gardens, Greenmarket Square, and the nearby Bo-Kaap area
  • Spend some time on some of Cape Town’s beautiful beaches such as Clifton and Camps Bay
  • Join one of our township tours or take a cultural field trip (Fair Trade Certified) together with a local guide. (BB)
Day 4: Cape Town to Swellendam

Breakfast followed by checkout. Make your way eastwards via Worcester and Robertson and arrive at your country lodge in the beautiful area of Swellendam in the afternoon (driving distance: approx. 225 km). Evening at leisure. (BB)

Day 5: Swellendam

Breakfast at your hotel. Full day to explore the heart of the South West Cape. Among the attractions are the Robertson Wine Route, Montagu (with its hot mineral springs), the Breede River, Bontebok National Park, Cape Agulhas (southernmost tip of Africa) and the delightful town of Swellendam itself, the third oldest town in South Africa. Day 6: Swellendam to Gansbaai

Breakfast followed by check out. Drive south to the seaside town of Gansbaai, situated approximately 2 hours drive from Swellendam. Arrive at the spectacular Grootbos Private Nature Reserve in the early afternoon for two days in a region of indescribable natural beauty. (DBB)

Day 7: Gansbaai / Hermanus

Full day at Grootbos with the possibility to explore the beaches and natural surroundings. If you are visiting during whale season (July–Nov), you will have the chance to see Southern Right Whales close-up from the shore or on a boat trip. The adventurous can choose to go on a white shark cage diving trip from Gansbaai (FB)

Day 8:Checkout

Breakfast and check out. Drive back to Cape Town ( 2 hrs) and return your rental car before checking in for your onward bound flight. (B)
